Nicholas Marudas joined the faculty in 2002 after completing his doctorate in accounting at Georgia State University. He has an MBA in accounting from New York University and a BA in chemistry from University of Maryland Baltimore County. Marudas has over 11 years of internal audit experience with CARE and Pfizer and three years of external audit experience with KPMG. He teaches Auditing Financial Statements, Seminar in Auditing and Principles of Financial Accounting. He is a certified internal auditor and certified public accountant and consults in the areas of forensic accounting and auditing, and internal controls. He also conducts operational audits in developing countries. Marudas’ major research interests are in financial accounting, especially of nonprofit organizations, and internal and external auditing.
