While a convocation is a formal gathering, AUM’s New Student Convocation has a lot of informal (and fun!) elements designed to welcome you to — and show you what it means to be a part of — Warhawk Nation.
Here’s the schedule of events:
9:30 a.m. — Meet up: Students and faculty marshals begin to convene in Taylor Center (Undeclared and Nursing & Health Sciences meet in Taylor 230; Business, Education, Sciences, and Liberal Arts & Social Sciences meet in Taylor 221–223).
9:30 a.m. — Meet up: Faculty and staff convene in the lobby of the Athletics Complex. Faculty, please arrive in your regalia. The Dais Party will convene in the Hospitality Suite of the Athletics Complex.
9:40 a.m. — Head over: Students will process from Taylor Center to the Athletics Complex. Students will be grouped by college, led by the associated faculty marshal. Students will walk through the hallway via the southwest door to the gym and receive welcoming applause by faculty and staff.
10:00–11:00 a.m. — New Student Convocation ceremony: At the AUM Athletics Complex, faculty, staff, administrators, and fellow students will welcome you and share what it means to be a part of the Auburn Montgomery family.
12:00 — Celebration Event: Chicken Fingers and sides served along with music, yard games (Giant Cup Pong, Giant Jenga, Giant Twister, Giant Chess, Cornhole) and student organizations.
