The Office of Advancement has selected seven AUM students to serve as Advancement Ambassadors. The students will serve as hosts and hostesses in Advancement activities that include community leaders, significant supporters of the university and other dignitaries. The students were selected through an extensive interview process and have demonstrated a commitment to community service.
"The seven students chosen are some of Auburn Montgomery’s best and brightest," said Carolyn Golden, Vice Chancellor for Advancement. "Martie McEnerney, who oversees the program, has done a great job, and we look forward to having the Ambassadors serve as hosts and hostesses at alumni and campaign activities."
The 2012-13 AUM Advancement Ambassadors are:
Roa Zaied - Roa is a Montgomery native and 2012 graduate of Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School. She is currently a senior majoring in biology/pre-med and plans to graduate in May 2013. She is involved with American Humanics and Alpha Epsilon Delta at AUM. Roa is the daughter of Dr. Mahmood Zaied and Eqbal Zaied.
Annie Jones - Annie is a junior majoring in nursing. Annie is originally from Phenix City and graduated from Central High School in 2010. Annie is serving as an Advancement Ambassador for the second year in a row as she was part of the inaugural team in 2011-12.
Alexandra Klimetz - Alexandra is also serving her second term as an Advancement Ambassador. She comes to AUM all the way from East High School in West Bend, Wis. She is a pre-law student and is involved with the Student Government Association.
Eason Yin - Eason is an international student from China. He is currently pursuing his graduate degree in accounting. Eason is serving his second term as an Advancement Ambassador and previously served as a Business Ambassador. He is currently the President of the Chinese Student Association and President of the International Student Association at AUM. Eason is also the recipient of AUM’s prestigious Ida Belle Young Scholarship.
Maranda Jackson - Maranda is a 2011 graduate of Rehobeth High School and a Dothan native. Maranda is currently a sophomore at AUM and plans to graduate in 2015 with a double major in business administration and management and finance. Maranda was a recipient of the Freshman Leader of the Year award at AUM and serves as an orientation leader and a Warhawk Recruiter. She is also involved with the Student Government Association and the Campus Activities Board. She is the daughter of John and Deborah Jackson.
Yemi Adesanya - Yemi is from Norcross, Ga., and graduated in 2009 from Norcross High School. Yemi is currently a junior at AUM and is majoring in English. She is the Student Government Association’s Secretary of Public Affairs. Yemi is the daughter of Tola and Vassiena Adesanya.
Melanie Hendricks - Melanie is from Montgomery and graduated from BTW Magnet High School in 2009. She is a junior at AUM majoring in business management and pre-health. Melanie is a recipient of the Alabama GI Dependent Scholarship and is a member of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. She is the daughter of Letitia Hendricks.
