Coach Pat Dye will host the 12th Annual Blue Jean Ball, a fundraiser for the Auburn University and Auburn Montgomery Schools of Nursing, at his Crooked Oaks Hunting Lodge in Notasulga on Friday, Oct. 5.
This year's theme "Happy Trails," reflects the farewell feeling, as this marks the final time the event will be held at Crooked Oaks. Hundreds of supporters, friends, AU and AUM faculty and students have come to Dye's property each year since 2001 for the Blue Jean Ball. Proceeds from the event have provided more than 350 nursing students from Auburn and Auburn Montgomery with Blue Jean Ball Scholarships. This year's proceeds will provide scholarships, support for faculty, and support for various initiatives in the Schools of Nursing.
The fun begins at 5 p.m. with wagon rides and tours of Dye's home. Guests can enjoy live music from Jay Hughes and a silent auction while nursing students serve Conecuh Sausage. Curtiss, AUM's Warhawk mascot, and Aubie, Auburn's Tiger mascot, will be on-site for photo opportunities for a limited time.
The College of Veterinary Medicine's Southeastern Raptor Center will display their breathtaking birds of prey for photo opportunities starting at 6 p.m.
The Organized Seafood Association of Alabama has donated a seafood dinner, which will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Barbeque with baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad and dessert will also be served. Kidd Blue will provide music throughout the evening
At 8 p.m., Pat Dye and Randy Campbell will kick off the always lively live auction.
While the Blue Jean Ball will surely continue into its 13th year and beyond, don't miss your last chance to join the fun and fundraising at Crooked Oaks. For tickets or sponsorship opportunities, visit https://tpg.auburn.edu/ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=70&SINGLESTORE=true
