About 270 eighth-graders from 11 Montgomery Public Schools learned about personal finance and money management on Feb. 22 at AUM's annual Camp Cash Flow. Faculty, staff and students of the
School of Business hosted the event.
Willie Durham of State Farm served as keynote speaker. The students later broke into groups and rotated throughout four financial literacy education sessions:
- Reality Check –students were assigned a mock job and salary and had to go through the process of making ends meet by getting insurance, paying bills, etc.
- Financial Planning – hosted by State Farm
- Managing a Checking Account – hosted by Wells Fargo
- Savings – hosted by MAX Credit Union
