Kathryn M. (Kath) Carter, who graduated from Auburn Montgomery in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a double major in accounting and marketing, has made a significant pledge of $25,000 to the Auburn Montgomery Wellness Center. Carter honored her family by naming the Wellness Center women’s locker room "The Charles Hallman Family Women’s Locker Room."
"We are grateful for Kath’s generous support of this facility, which is so important to our students," Chancellor John Veres said. "We are fortunate to have supporters like Kath who believe strongly in what this university has done and is doing, and in its untapped potential."
Carter’s career of more than 20 years as a certified public accountant has resulted in her attaining the position of partner and Midwest Sub-Area Transaction Advisory Services Leader for Ernst & Young, one of the world’s largest professional services firms and one of the "Big Four" accounting firms. Her strong organizational skills have been utilized to manage the merger and acquisition processes for various corporations, including Hewlett-Packard and Zurich Corporation.
Carter was honored by the Auburn Montgomery School of Business in 2010 with the Distinguished Alumna Award. She is on the Board of the Friends of Prentice Women’s Hospital and a member of The Chicago Network, the Chicago Finance Exchange, the American Institute of CPAs, the Illinois CPA Society, the Illinois Venture Capital Association, and Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society serving business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – International.
"Kath is a very successful Auburn Montgomery graduate, and she told me that, thanks to great professors, she was well prepared to address the challenges in her career field," said Marilyn Ray, Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement.
