On Friday, Aug. 17, representatives from all 13 state four-year institutions of higher education across Alabama converged in the capitol for the College Colors Day press conference. This year, Curtiss the Warhawk made his first appearance alongside the other collegiate mascots. He even met his "cousin" Aubie for the first time. SGA president Darius Pettway, SGA chief of staff Ryan Shubird, and SGA Senator (Sciences) Marie Reuter accompanied Curtiss to represent AUM.
Gov. Robert Bentley signed a proclamation with the Higher Education Partnership, Alabama's higher education advocacy organization, to encourage all Alabamians to show pride in their favorite college or university by wearing their colors on College Colors Day, Aug. 31. Don't forget to represent by wearing black and orange!
