Chicago-based artist Nicolosi surprised Auburn Montgomery literature students on Monday evening, April 16, with a visit to the classroom of Nancy Anderson, associate professor of English. He was in Alabama to attend the unveiling of a new U.S. Postal Service stamp and envelope honoring the 50th anniversary of To Kill a Mockingbird. He designed the pictorial cancellation and the collector's envelope.
With the blessing of author Harper Lee, Nicolosi has also created a documentary honoring her impact and legacy titled "Song of the Mockingbird," which he said will later be released on Alabama Public Television. During his visit to AUM, Nicolosi talked with students and gave them a sneak peak of the documentary.
