National Accreditations

Established in 1967, Auburn University at Montgomery offered its first classes in 1969, and moved to its current 500-acre campus in east Montgomery in 1971. AUM was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges, in 1973 and was reaffirmed by SACSCOC in 1978, 1988, 1998, and 2008. AUM submitted its Fifth-Year Interim Report in March 2014 and will be up for reaccreditation in 2018.

Auburn University at Montgomery is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, educational specialist and doctoral degrees. College of Business Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), 2015 – 2020: Accredited since 1978, includes the entire College of Business, including Accounting; Last Visit was in February 2014

College of Education National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education/Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (NCATE/CAEP), 2014 – 2020; accredited since 1983, includes Bachelor, Master and Education Specialist level programs which prepare elementary and secondary school teachers. Their last site visit was in November, 2013.

College of Education Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), 2010-2018, includes Masters and Education Specialist of Counselor Education in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Last Visit was January 27, 2010.

College of Nursing and Health Sciences Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE); Includes Bachelor of Science in Nursing, 2012-2022, with the last site visit in April, 2012.

College of Nursing and Health Sciences National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), 2013-2020; Includes Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program Last site visit was April 11, 2013.

College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Network of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), (2014-2021); includes the Master of Public Administration is accredited. Their latest site visit was in March, 2014.

College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences American Bar Association (2015-2022); ABA approved Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (Legal Studies
Concentration). Their last site visit was January 2016.
