Network and Telecommunication

Network Support's responsibilities include installing professional voice and data wiring throughout the campus.  These include the "backbone" cable and fiber-defined as primary cabling inside buildings and all outside plant cable and fiber-and horizontal voice and data cabling-the patch cords from the phone or computer to the wall jack.

Network Support is responsible for the development and management of voice and data networks for academic, administrative, student, and research end users.  Network Support's functions include:

  • Internet access management and maintenance
  • Bandwidth management and maintenance
  • Wireless communications, development, installation, and maintenance
  • Cell phone communication
  • University phone system installation, management and maintenance


Internet connectivity and telephone service are provided to students living in North Commons and West Couryards residence halls. Your AUM email user name and password are the same user name and password you use to log on to the Internet in the residence halls.  If you are having trouble logging in to the network from your dorm room, please call the Help Desk at 244-3500.
