"Say what you know, do what you must, come what may" - Sonya Kovalevsky
SK Day 2006 marked the Auburn Montgomery Mathematics Department's third year to honor the noted female mathematician with events designed to encourage high school-age women to consider careers in mathematics and the sciences.
Sonia Kovalevsky Days have been organized by the Association for Women In Mathematics (AWM) and institutions around the country since 1985. The event is named in honor of Sonia Kovalevsky, who was the first woman to earn a doctorate in mathematics.
