Forest Avenue Summer School
Grade Level Math and Reading Summer Program
General Information
This program is held at Forest Avenue Academic Magnet School.
Classes meet Tuesday through Friday, June 9 - 12 and Monday through Thursday, June 15 - July 16.
First time students at Forest Avenue are required to register for the grade they will be attending in the fall. (For example, a child accepted into the second grade should register for second grade reading and/or math.)
Current Forest Avenue students should consult with their current teacher for appropriate summer placement.
Students may register for morning, afternoon, or for both sessions.
A supervised lunch period is available at no additional fee for students attending both sessions.
Reading sessions meet from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Math sessions meet from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Kindergarten readiness session meets from 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Early Registration Fee:
Prior to May 29 - $275 per session
After May 29 - $300 per session
Students attending both sessions must bring a lunch (including a drink) that does not require refrigeration.
Juice break will be provided during the morning and afternoon sessions each day. Students may bring a snack.
Instruction will be provided by certified educators.
Students should bring #2 pencils and a notebook the first day.
No scholarships will be available. Early and late child care are not available at Forest Avenue Academic Magnet School. Students may be dropped off 15 minutes before the session begins and must be picked up no later than 15 minutes following the session. A $20 late fee will be assessed for students picked up late.

Does your child need review and reinforcement of the skills taught in math and/or reading last school year?
This summer program will provide the core skills in reading and math grade level curriculums. It cannot be substituted for a school system’s summer school program for credit.
Who Should Attend? Held at Forest Avenue Academic Magnet School
A refund will be given only if cancellation is made three working days before the first class meeting. Failure to attend does not constitute cancellation. There is a $15 charge per Youth College Class, $35 per Camp AUM, and $ 30 per session for the Forest Avenue Program to process a withdrawal.
