Theatre AUM
Theatre AUM provides the training in practical theatre production that clarifies the principles taught in the classroom, allowing you to test ideas and theories about the practical application of theatre arts. All students in the program must enroll in THEA 2914, Theatre Practicum, each term that they are enrolled at AUM.
The Theatre emphasis requires a minimum of 33 hours in Theatre courses, plus an additional 9 hours in English. All students must fulfill the requirements of the University Liberal Education Program and the General Curriculum requirements in Liberal Arts, as well as the Theatre requirements.
Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
The Auburn Montgomery Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology program is one of only a few in the country where undergraduate students receive direct clinical experience with patients. After graduation, you are qualified to work in the public school systems of Alabama, providing speech-language therapy, or you can opt to pursue a graduate degree to qualify to work in private practice or a hospital-medical setting.
Students enter the Speeh-Language Pathology and Audiology curriculum after achieving junior standing at AUM. Virtually all core curriculum coursework should have been completed so that professional education is not interrupted.
You will spend your junior and senior years completing academic coursework in speech-language pathology and audiology and obtaining required clinical training and experience with patients through the Speech and Hearing Center on AUM's campus. You will complete approximately 60 hours of supervised experience in speech-language therapy and assessment and treatment of patients with hearing disorders.
