Academic Affairs
Strong academic programs in more than 90 areas of study.
Faculty members – experts in their fields – who make working with students their top priority.
Graduates who consistently have some of the state’s highest passing rates on licensure and certification exams.
At Auburn University at Montgomery, “our standard is excellence” is more than just a motto. It’s a way of life.
Selected in recent years by The Princeton Review as a “Best Business School,” “Best Value College,” and a “Best Southeastern College,” Auburn Montgomery’s five academic schools – Business, Education, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Sciences – all offer challenging undergraduate and graduate programs.
Measures of Success
AUM's School of Business ranks among the top 15 percent in the world as proven by its accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
More than 85 percent of our Business classes are led by full-time, Ph.D. professors.
Our student-faculty ratio is just 15:1.
More than 90 percent of the graduates of our Certified Governmental Financial Management program pass the certification exam versus the national average of less than 40 percent.
We rank second in the state for the rate at which its students pass the CPA exam on the first try.
We are home to one of only six Storage Area Networks in the nation. This program enables information technology students to learn to manage networks required to store today’s exploding amounts of digital data.
Auburn Montgomery offers the advantages of a larger university while still keeping its small college environment. With a student body of approximately 5,200, students get to know their classmates and professors, making for a better collegiate experience.
Working with Your Schedule
Because of our mix of traditional and adult students, we offer classes days, nights, weekends and online. Classes are held from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week. And we’re always expanding the numbers of courses we offer on weekends and online. Plus, our “mini-term” classes allow students to earn their degrees even more rapidly.
Personal Attention from the Experts
Our professors are dedicated educators who build strong academic relationships with their students. Many are recognized leaders in their fields. Among them:
Exercise Science Professor Michele Olson often writes for and is quoted in fitness magazines and recently designed a custom exercise regimen for tennis star Anna Kournikova.
Alan Gribben, the head of AUM’s English and Philosophy Department, is one of the nation’s foremost Mark Twain scholars.
Keivan Deravi, professor of economics, is Alabama’s leading economic forecaster.
