$5,000 GOAL

Over the past decade, textbook prices have risen more than four times the rate of inflation. The average student budgets over $1,200 on textbooks and supplies each year, according to the College Board.

In AUM’s College of Business, we have calculated that our average student will spend approximately $3,000 on textbooks for their core business classes. It’s not uncommon for professors to notice students simply going without textbooks. Unfortunately, the financial pressures students experience are very real. We’re taking steps to lighten the load for our students, but would appreciate your assistance.

Nearly 70 percent of AUM’s undergraduate student body is composed of nontraditional students. Many of our students work while attending school. Students should not have to sacrifice academic success for financial stability. In many cases, a relatively small gift could make a world of difference for so many of our students.

Our goal is $5,000. Every $500 gift will allow an additional student to not have to worry about textbooks for their next semester.
