Become a Friend of Curtiss!

  • The Curtiss Committee is comprised of a minimum of 5 students, willing to serve as a “Friend of Curtiss”, our mascot at Auburn University of Montgomery.
  • We are dedicated to participating in events that enhance the experience for our Warhawk family and the local community. This position does come with a scholarship.
  • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA to apply for any position.

The Curtiss Committee is comprised of students, willing to serve as a “Friend of Curtiss.” Our team will participate as Curtiss, the mascot at Auburn University of Montgomery, and his handler. We are dedicated to participating in events that enhance the experience for our Warhawk family and the local community. Want to try out and join us?

Positions include: Friend of Curtiss (Mascot), Wing/Handler, and scheduler. To tryout, you must be a full-time undergraduate student currently enrolled at Auburn University at Montgomery and in good academic standing with a 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher.

What Type of Friend Are You?

  • Must be willing to wear the Curtiss “Costume”
  • Responsible for attending University and local events as a Friend of Curtiss
  • Will attend and contribute to regularly scheduled Curtiss Committee meetings
  • Meet regularly with the Coordinator of Student Involvement
  • Fill in as wing, in absence of wings

Wings are:

  • Responsible for assisting Curtiss during University and local events
  • Responsible for creating shopping lists of items needed for props and turning into the Coordinator of Student Involvement
  • Collect and post photos of events Curtiss participates in

Responsibilities

  • Maintain attendance at all meetings, events, and/or programs
  • Record minutes of all Curtiss Committee meetings
  • Maintain an accurate and current list of all Curtiss appearances
  • Draft emails that will be sent to individuals requesting Curtiss for an appearance
  • Maintain calendar containing Curtiss appearances
  • Responsible for the creation of all invoices and/or flyers for events Curtiss will participate in
  • Responsible for following up with organization (thank you email) after Curtiss appearance
  • Responsible for sharing feedback with the Curtiss Committee at each meeting following an event
  • In the absence of the wings, this person will accompany Curtiss to events
