Fraternity & Sorority Life

At AUM, we offer opportunities for students to join a number of Greek Life organizations. These sororities and fraternities are more than social groups, they offer tools for personal growth and development, and a place for everyone, no matter how diverse your backgrounds or interests may be.

Joining a sorority or fraternity can be a life-changing experience, as many brothers and sisters from college remain life-long friends. Furthermore, membership in the AUM Greek system facilitates growth in the areas of scholarship, personal and professional development, and campus and community involvement. Greek Life strives to develop leaders and enrich the lives of all students and the campus community.

In sororities and fraternities at AUM, you will find scholarship and leadership, mixers and formals, and community and campus-wide service projects. Most of all, however, you will find a lifetime of memories and involvement, and the group of people who will become your friends for life.

A Word From the Assistant Director...

As you start your career at Auburn Montomery, we hope you will take the time to consider the many opportunities available to you outside the classroom to enhance your college experience. There are over 60 registered student organizations available at AUM. Going Greek is one that truly stands out among all of them. Joining a fraternity or sorority provides you a home away from home, with true brothers and sisters of national and international families. The relationships you build when you Go Greek will last a lifetime!

Many studies show that campus involvement while in college can lead to better academic performance and a greater likelihood of completing a degree. Being involved in a fraternity or sorority can help to build new skills that can be valuable throughout life. These benefits can include leadership development, organizational skills, and the invaluable personal growth that comes from this involvement. Fraternity & Sorority Life provides opportunities to be involved in campus leadership positions, community service, planning of social functions, positions within the chapter, and irreplaceable friendships, all helping you to grow and succeed while at Auburn Montgomery and throughout life.

For nearly 40 years, our fraternities and sororities have offered a values-based experience that focuses on scholarship, leadership, service, and brother/sisterhood.  Greeks at AUM are very involved with community service, philanthropies, orientation, and major leadership positions on campus. In fact, during the Fall 2015-Spring 2016 academic year, Fraternity and sororities reported the following:

  • Completed 1,400 hours of community service
  • Raising over 15,000 dollars for charitable and philanthropic causes;
  • Achieving an all fraternity/sorority GPA of 2.9 higher than the non-Greek average.

Fraternity & Sorority Life at AUM is expanding, as membership within the fraternity and sorority community continues to climb each semester. It's a great time to Go Greek here. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and explore the possibilities of joining a fraternity or sorority while in college. You have come here to learn and grow as an individual, and becoming part of Fraternity & Sorority Life can assist you as you meet those goals.

If there are any questions or concerns about joining a fraternity or sorority at AUM, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership Programs . We are located in the Taylor Center, Warhawk Alley, Room 126.
