2014 Weekend-Class Fall-term Schedule

Confucius Institute at AUM offers Chinese brush painting from fall 2014. Chinese brush painting needs great attention to artistic conception, pattern and design. Meanwhile, it can help students to get potentials development, creativity thinking cultivating and sentiment modifying. Learning Chinese brush painting is also good at improving the keen observation, promoting the unique angle of judgment and enhancing the pleasant expression. 
Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. It can be traced to as far back as 6,000 years ago. The most popularly known form of Chinese painting is “Water-ink” painting, where water-ink is the medium. We will learn how to paint flowers, birds, fish, vegetables and insects.
Creative activities, like Chinese painting, help the brain develop. Learning to paint benefits Children teenagers and adults by using both sides of their brain which is how we reach our full potential. Splashing paint across a paper is fun and that is able to strengthen the confidence and patience.

What Do We Do in the Class?
- Learn the essential and right way to hold a brush pen, to merge the ink and water and to mix Chinese painting colors
 - Demonstrate it step by step via showing a fun enjoyable flower-bird ink painting
 - Individual guidance and improvement in accordance with each student’s aptitude
 - Study the composition and methods of combining ink painting and calligraphy

Cost: $50 (material included)

One-to-one Chinese classes

Currently we are offering Business Chinese classes and Advanced Chinese to adults and children who are interested. Depending on interest, Business Chinese will be offered in one-on-one class sessions or small group classes. The charge will be $25 an hour and classes can be arranged anytime between 9am-7pm Monday-Friday and 9-5 Saturday. Early registration fee is $20.00.
