Theatre AUM's "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" runs through April 27

For the final production of its 2013-14 season, Theatre AUM will open the Tennessee Williams classic “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” on April 17.

Set on a cotton plantation on the Mississippi Delta, the 1955 Pulitzer Prize winning play centers on a wealthy Southern patriarch’s impending death as he manipulates his squabbling family as they vie to inherit his estate. The drama deals with the themes of death, homophobia, alcoholism, greed, deceit, repression and superficiality.

The AUM production is directed by student Davie Wilson and the cast includes: “Maggie the Cat,” Sarah Worley; “Brick,” Chris Howard; “Mae,” Tina Neese; “Grooper,” Jordan Lewandowski; “Big Mama,” Blair Casey; “Big Daddy,” Professor Mike Winkelman; “Reverend Tooker,” Tony Atkins; and “Doctor Baugh”; Garrett Wilson.

Show dates are April 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 and 27; show times are 7:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for seniors, non-AUM students and military. AUM faculty, staff and students are admitted free of charge with Warhawk ID. No late seating.
