Named 2012 Musicians of the Year by Musical America, cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han rank among the most esteemed and influential classical musicians in the world today. Their appearances take them to the world’s most prestigious concert series and festivals as soloists, as a duo, and in a trio with violinist Philip Setzer. With repertoire spanning virtually the entire literature for cello and piano, and a commitment to new music, Finckel and Han have commissioned numerous works for cello and piano, many of which are featured on the 2010 Artist Led release, For David and Wu Han. Included on this recording is a work commissioned by the AUM Weil Family Endowment for Eminence in the Arts and Humanities entitled Mirror Image, by American composer George Tsontakis.

Established in 1995 in honor of Adolph Weil, the Weil Fellow in the Arts and Humanities is awarded to persons of distinguished achievement in the arts and humanities: writers, artists or renowned scholars in one or more of the liberal arts disciplines.
