FAQ
What is Seamless Admission?
Seamless Admission is a special agreement between Auburn University and Auburn Montgomery that allows students who were not admitted to Auburn University to take their first year of coursework as Auburn Montgomery students (and take courses at either the Auburn campus or Auburn Montgomery campus). After successful completion of 30 credit hours in that first year, students who have maintained a 2.5 cumulative grade point average are "guaranteed" admission to Auburn University. To enter AU programs with additional admission requirements, such as education or nursing, students must also meet those requirements to transfer.
What are the admission requirements for Auburn Montgomery?
To be eligible for the program, students must meet Auburn Montgomery admission criteria, 18 ACT or SAT score of 860 with a minimum 2.3. To eligible for a seat on the AU campus students must have ACT sub scores of 18/450 English and 20/510 Math.
When are admissions decisions made?
Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis starting in February. Decisions are based primarily on academic achievement.
Is there a deposit for accepted students?
Yes. A $300 confirmation deposit is required to hold a student’s place in the program. The confirmation deposit is non-refundable. Since spaces in this very popular program are limited, accepted students are urged to submit their deposit as soon as possible.
What does the confirmation deposit cover?
The $300 confirmation deposit confirms your spot in the program and is non-refundable. It covers orientation, orientation materials, all guests that attend with you, and registration fees.
Will students have to re-submit official transcripts (high school/college) to AUM?
No. Students do not have to re-submit their official transcripts to Auburn Montgomery. The Auburn Montgomery Office of Admissions and Recruiting will work with the AU Admissions Office to obtain the transcript, ACT and/or SAT scores you have already sent to AU. Once the student graduates from high school please send an official final transcript to:

Do you accept dual enrollment or early enrollment credits?
Yes. Dual enrollment credits may be used towards the 30 semester hour requirement. However, please keep in mind if you are eligible and choose to take classes on the AU campus, classes are limited to only general core courses and those students with many dual enrollment or duplicate core credits may be subject to online courses to supplement their semester schedule.
Do you accept AP or IB credit?
No. AP and IB credit will not count towards the 30-semester hour requirement.
Will I be required to attend Seamless orientation?
Orientation is mandatory. Students confirmed for the Auburn campus attend orientation in Auburn. Those confirmed for the AUM campus attend orientation on the AUM campus. For more information click here.
If I am selected to take classes on the Auburn campus, what time will I take my classes?
Classes on the Auburn campus begin at 3 p.m. in the afternoon and last until at least 7:15 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Labs will vary depending on availability of lab space. We do not offer Friday classes. For more information click here.
If I choose to attend my classes at AUM, do I have to live on campus?
No. You do not have to live on-campus. However, AUM has excellent dorm-style living options that are available to all Seamless students. For more information click here.
Are Seamless students eligible for scholarships?
For AUM Seamless students on the Montgomery Campus beginning Fall 2012, we will be awarding them scholarships if they fall within our guidelines for other AUM students. This will only be a one-year scholarship unless they decide to stay at AUM after their first year. If they do stay at AUM, the scholarship then becomes renewable. Students on the Auburn campus will not be eligible for AUM scholarships. For more information on scholarships guidelines click here.
Where should Seamless Students send their completed FAFSA forms?
Because all Seamless Students will be enrolled at AUM for their first year, all financial aid documents, including FAFSA, should be sent to the AUM Financial Aid Office. Please handle all FAFSA forms and financial aid concerns prior to attending Orientation. Financial Aid staff will be on hand to answer any additional questions that day.
Can Seamless Students enroll in classes at Auburn while in the Seamless program?
No. Seamless Students must enroll in courses through AUM during their first year.
Can Seamless Students utilize the academic support services available at Auburn?
Seamless students do not receive tutoring from Study Partners until they are officially enrolled in Auburn University. However, Academic Support provides tutoring specifically for Seamless students between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm, Monday thru Thursday in The Learning Commons (2nd Floor RBD Library). Students may also seek tutoring in The Miller Writing Center (also located in the Learning Commons) during its regular hours of operation.
Can Seamless Students pledge an Auburn fraternity or sorority?
No. Seamless Students interested in joining a Auburn fraternity or sorority may join one after they enroll at Auburn.
Are Seamless Students eligible to obtain student tickets to Auburn football games?
Seamless Students are not eligible to purchase seats in the Auburn Student Section, but they may purchase regular admission football tickets through the Auburn Athletics ticket office.
Can Seamless Students participate in Auburn University bands and/or choral groups?
Yes. Seamless students are eligible to participate in all areas of the Auburn bands or choral groups with the exception of the Marching Band. Students interested in one of these groups must successfully complete an audition. If you are interested please contact John Updegraff (334-244-3395) for more information.
How many semesters is the Seamless Admission program?
Classes are held on the AU campus only for the fall and spring semester. However, if the 2.5 GPA/30-hour requirement is not met in the fall and spring terms, we will work with a student to attend summer school either at the AUM main campus or at an institution near home to finish program requirements. The AUM campus operates fall, spring, and summer semesters to meet program requirements.
Can a Seamless Student change his/her major or track while enrolled in the program?
A student can change majors or track while in the program. If, however, the student is dedicated to pursuing a major with a higher GPA requirement than 2.5 the student must meet the requirements for major, even if they are admitted to Auburn. If a student changes majors once enrolled it is possible that some of the courses that the student has taken might not apply to their new major.
What does it mean if I need to take the MATH placement test?
AUM uses scores on mathematics placement test to properly place students into the appropriate MATH class. The test scores are prerequisites for MATH classes, so students need to give their best effort when taking them. This test is offered at several locations and if you are required to take the test you will receive location information as well as study guides to help you prepare. Note: Once a student completes the placement test, an advisor will discuss the results with the student and provide course recommendations based on test scores. To practice for the placement test, go to http://act.org/compass/sample/index.html.
