Admission Process & Requirements

What is Seamless Admission?

Seamless Admission is a one-year, invitation only program that is specifically designed for students who narrowly missed the traditional admission requirements for being admitted to Auburn University.  The program allows participants to enroll and take their first-year, core courses as an Auburn Montgomery (AUM) student. Once participants complete 30 hours of core coursework at AUM and achieve a GPA of at least 2.5, they are guaranteed admission to Auburn as a sophomore. Traditionally, students complete these requirements during one fall and one spring semester, but some continue taking classes into summer in order to meet the eligibility standards for guaranteed admission (again, those standards are a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and 30 credit hours).  Students who do not satisfy these requirements will be able to remain AUM students and will be encouraged to apply for admission to Auburn at a later date.  

In summary, Seamless is designed to allow students who were not admitted for their first year at Auburn an alternate pathway to fulfill their goal of earning an Auburn University degree.

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible for the program, you must have the following admission criteria:

  • A composite score of 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT
  • A high school GPA of at least 2.3
  • A completed new freshman application for admission at Auburn.   

How does the Admission Process Work? 

Seamless Admission letters are sent out directly from Auburn beginning in mid-November.  Once a student is invited to join the Seamless Program, they can then indicate their interest in Seamless Admission through an online interest form found here. After a student officially indicates interest, Auburn University forwards the student’s application and educational information to Auburn University at Montgomery. No additional application is necessary.  Then in February, Seamless Admission sends, electronically and by regular mail, interested students more information about the program and instructions for submitting a deposit. 

In order to give all eligible students an equal shot at reserving a space in the program, the deposit website will not open until after all admission letters have been sent.  This allows everyone an equal chance to secure a spot in the program, regardless of what date you receive your invitation.

How Can I reserve my Spot in Seamless Admissions? 

Invited students are not officially in the program until they have paid a confirmation deposit to reserve their space.
 Students can pay their confirmation deposit beginning in late-February here. Students will need their student ID Number in order to deposit, their Student ID Numbers begins with an S.  If you need assistance locating your Student ID Number, please call our office at 334-244-3460 and we would be happy to provide it again for you.  Since spaces in this very popular program are limited, students are urged to submit their interest and reserve their space as early as possible. The confirmation deposit will be accepted until June 1 or until the program is full (whichever date comes first).
