The Department of Foundations and Secondary Education is one of four departments in the School of Education.
The foundations program plays an integral part in providing students with courses and laboratory programs that support the model of Professional Educator: Competent, Committed, and Reflective. All undergraduate students in education take part in pre-professional activities associated with the foundations program.
The secondary program provides opportunities for future and current teachers to gain entry level or advanced teacher certification in a variety of disciplines. Current secondary undergraduate majors include biology, history, English, language arts, mathematics, social science, and art education (P-12).
