ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Programs offered by the Army and the Air Force, train qualified men and women to become officers in those services upon graduation from college. You receive your military training and go to college at the same time.
Army ROTC
AUM's Army ROTC (AROTC) detachment is located in 312 Taylor Center. Through cross-enrollment agreements the AUM detachment also provides Army ROTC training for students from Alabama State University, Huntingdon College, Troy State University, Troy State University - Montgomery and Faulkner University.
Air Force ROTC
AUM also has an Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) cross-enrollment agreement with Alabama State University. Typically, this means you'll be enrolled as a full time student at AUM and take your ROTC classes each week at ASU.

During college, ROTC students take a full academic course load, plus additional military science courses that provide the specialized knowledge needed as a commissioned officer. ROTC candidates participate in military labs, drills, military science presentations, and other practical training activities.
