Tsai family recognized for support of AUM Wellness Center

ChauYuTuengTsai_wnAuburn Montgomery has named the administrative suite of the Wellness Center the Drs. Yu-Tueng and Chau Tsai – Regitar USA Inc. Administrative Suite. The naming honors the Tsai’s pledge of $150,000 through Imagine. Invest. Inspire. A Campaign for Auburn University at Montgomery.

This gift is one of numerous gifts the Tsai’s have made to Auburn Montgomery, including a scholarship endowment. The Tsai family has a long relationship with the university dating back to 1985, when Yu-Tueng Tsai served as an Assistant Professor in the accounting department and the Tsai children, Gary and Henry, attended the Early Childhood Center.

In 1987, the Tsais founded the first Chinese-owned corporation in Alabama, Regitar USA, which was listed by Inc. magazine in 2007 and 2008 as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. Regitar is a manufacturer, importer and exporter of auto parts and power tools.

When asked why they are supporting Auburn Montgomery, they said, "We love supporting higher education institutions, especially in the local community, because knowledge is the only thing that no one can take away from you. Higher education is one of the best ways to gain your knowledge and carry it with you for the rest of your life."

Yu-Tueng Tsai serves on the Chancellor’s Advisory Board, and he and Chau Tsai are members of the university’s 1967 and 1856 giving societies.
