On Aug. 2, the Office of Public Safety and Risk Management, in partnership with the Montgomery Police Department and emergency management officials, will conduct an active shooter exercise on the AUM campus from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This exercise will help community and university first responders and communicators evaluate and critique their response actions. In addition, media representatives will likely be on campus in response to the exercise.

This is NOT a campus-wide drill. The exercise will be confined to Moore Hall and West Courtyards (marked green on the map), though there may be moments throughout the day that traffic around campus will be affected for very brief periods of time. In addition, the Moore Hall parking lot and about half of East Lot 1 (next to West Courtyards) will be closed (marked red on the map.)

Anyone working or visiting anywhere on campus other than Moore Hall and West Courtyards on Aug. 2 should carry on with their normal duties and business.

Mark your calendars: Thursday, Aug. 2, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
