Rally around the disco ball at next week's AUMfest
AUM is turning back time on Wednesday for the annual AUMfest. It's a 70s theme, and everyone is encouraged to don their flared trousers and polyester suits and comb their wings to celebrate. Events include:
11 a.m. - 2 p.m., on the Quad
- Lunch from The Roost (free for the first 200 people dressed in 70s attire, $7 for everyone else)
- Arcade games
- Inflatables
- Fashion show
- Tarot card readings
- T-shirt give away (only for those dressed in 70s attire)
- AUM department giveaways
7 p.m., Looney’s Skate Center, 3541 McGehee Road, Montgomery
- 70s Skate Night (free to students with AUM ID)
SGA hosting town hall meeting tonight
The Student Government Association will host a town hall meeting tonight at 6 p.m. in Taylor Center 223. You'll have an opportunity to voice opinions and concerns about things happening on campus, and pizza and drinks will be provided. more
Department of History selling books for scholarships Wednesday
Looking for a best seller, a favorite classic or brilliant non-fiction? Then head to the Department of History's annual used book sale on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of Goodwyn Hall. All proceeds support student scholarships. The department encourages readers to come early to find the best selections.
ADDITION: Student Health Center to begin offering flu shots Thursday
The Student Health Center will offer flu shots for students, faculty, staff and dependents every day beginning Thursday. The shots will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25, payable by cash or check only (no insurance). Call the clinic at 244-3281 for more information. Children must be 3 years or older to receive a flu vaccine.
