"I am really proud of our work together, and I probably learned as much from them as they did from me," Ritvo said. This is Ritvo's third article on the various aspects of NGOs in the former Soviet state of Georgia, two of which were supported by the AUM Research Council.

Michael Simmons
Dr. Michael B. Simmons

The two papers which Dr. Michael B. Simmons, Associate Professor in the Department of History, read at the Primer Congreso Internacional de Estudios Patrísticos (First International Conference on Patristic Studies), San Juan, Argentina, in August have been anonymously peer-reviewed by experts in the field and approved for publication (forthcoming 2013). The first paper, Cristo en la Tradición Anglicana (¨Christ in the Anglican Tradition¨) deals with the history and theological developments of the Church of England under the Tudor Dynasty (from Henry VIII to Elizabeth I); and the second paper, El Uso Soteriológico de ‘SALVADOR UNIVERSAL’ en la Teofanía de Eusebio de Caesarea (The Soteriological Use of 'Universal Savior' in the Theophany of Eusebius of Caesarea) is a philological analysis of Greek and Syriac theological terminology of the last apology of Eusebius of Caesarea. Simmons' participation in this important international Patristics conference was made possible by a scholarship from AUM's School of Liberal Arts.

Katie Williams, a junior guard majoring in pre-physical therapy from Smyrna, Tenn., recently was named the fifth recipient of the Army ROTC Athletic Achievement Award for the 2012-13 school year for her efforts both on and off the court. Read more at aumathletics.com.
