AUM Spirit Day to bring campus together on Aug. 17
The second annual AUM Spirit Day, organized by the Staff Council, will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It will be held in the area between the Administration Building and Taylor Center. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served while supplies last. There will be inflatables, one of which will be a water slide, so dress the kids appropriately and don’t forget the towels. There will be a dunking booth, featuring individuals from all over campus, a basketball toss and football pass game, "Fishing for Fun," chalk art and more. The Chancellor is allowing campus offices to close at 3:30 p.m. so everyone will have time to get their family and return for all the fun. The AUM Concert Series featuring Clint Darby will follow the activities at 6 p.m. Come out and mix and mingle with students, colleagues and family as we kick off another great year at AUM.

The 'Dragons' return to Riverfront Park on Aug. 25
The annual Montgomery Dragon Boat Race and Festival will return to the capital city on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Riverfront Park. At least three Auburn Montgomery teams are planning to compete, and your help is needed. Dozens of teams will be participating this year, and this is a great way to show how AUM and the Warhawk Nation are involved with the River Region community.
The Office of Far Eastern Initiatives will host an AUM promotional table again this year. If any department or unit would like to donate give-a-ways or any materials promoting their school or department, contact Doris Willis for more information at 244-3629 or dwillis2@aum.edu.
University Outreach is sponsoring "Team Fearless," one of the Dragon Boat teams. If you are interested in joining the team, contact Matthew Duke at mduke@cgov.aum.edu by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8. AUMnet has new look as ITS launches SharePoint 2010
Information Technology Services today launched SharePoint 2010, the software behind AUMnet - AUM's employee intranet. This gives AUMnet a new look and feel and should enhance the user experience. SharePoint 2010 is a browser-based collaboration tool that makes it easier for people to work together. It helps people set up websites to share information with others, manage documents from start to finish, and publish reports to help everyone make better decisions. The 2010 release offers a number of improvements over the 2007 product, including user interface improvements, greater social capabilities, deeper business intelligence, and document management and better integration with other systems. For more information on the new AUMnet, contact Bill Broadway at 244-3736.

Cashier Office offers students tuition installment payment option
AUM students and their families now have a more convenient and manageable way to finance their education. In July, the AUM Cashier Office introduced the Installment Payment Plan. Students who enroll in the plan make a 50 percent down payment and pay the remainder of their tuition and fees for the semester in two later installments. "We believe the implementation of the payment plan is a positive step in assisting our students. Having this option available will help reduce the stress associated with paying for college," said Gail Childs, AUM Bursar. Students can enroll in the plan now through Aug. 17, and enrollment for the spring semester will open again in December. For more information, visit http://www.aum.edu/payment-plan.

Curtiss, sponsored by AUM Outreach, was one of 19 mascots that attended the Universal Cheerleading Association / Universal Dance Association College Camp. Curtiss is currently getting ready for the 2012-13 athletic season, and he invites everyone to come out and support all of our fine Warhawk student-athletes.
