AUM to conduct emergency exercise on Aug. 2
On Aug. 2, the Office of Public Safety and Risk Management, in partnership with the Montgomery Police Department and emergency management officials, will conduct an active shooter exercise on the AUM campus from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. more

AUMazing Bean to shut down until classes resume
The AUMazing Bean coffee shop will be closed from July 30 until Aug. 13. However, you can still get your caffeine fix at The Roost, where free drip brew will be offered from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Seamless Admission hosting lunch and learn for employees on Aug. 28
The Office of Seamless Admission will host a brown bag lunch and learn session about the Seamless Admission Program on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the West Room on the 10th floor of Young Tower. The luncheon will allow you to learn more about Seamless Admission and explore the operations of this unique AUM program and where the program is heading next. Seamless Admission staff are looking forward to meeting faculty and staff and answering questions about the Seamless Admission Program. Dr. Yanyi K. Djamba, Director of the Center for Demographic Research and Professor in Sociology, Dr. Larry Mullins, Emeritus Professor in Sociology, Dr. Kim Brackett, Department Head and Associate Professor in Sociology, and Dr. Nelya McKenzie, Acting Head and Associate Professor in Communication and Dramatic Arts, have published the article titled "Household Size as a Correlate of Divorce Rate: A County-Level Analysis" in the Sociological Spectrum, the official journal of the Mid-South Sociological Association.
Dr. David Feltmate, Assistant Professor in Sociology, recently published the article "The Humorous Reproduction of Religious Prejudice: 'Cults' and Religious Humour in King of the Hill, The Simpsons, and South Park" in the Journal of Religion and Popular Culture, Volume 24, Number 2, pages 201-216. The article is available from the University of Toronto Press for those who are willing to register for free with the journal (see the section titled Notes).
