Graduating in spring 2013? Check your transcript for writing-intensive courses
If you're planning on graduating in spring 2013, then AUM's Writing Across the Curriculum program would like to remind you not to "get lost in the audit" and check your transcript now for three courses labeled as writing-intensive. All undergraduate students are required to complete a total of five WAC courses in order to graduate: (a) two Composition courses, fulfilled through ENGL 1010 and 1020; and (b) three courses labeled as writing-intensive (WI) in the section field of Webster when registering, with two of the three WI courses required in the program major or concentration. Contact your advisor for assistance to ensure you meet these requirements.

Dr. Brian E. Johnson, Assistant Professor of geography, served as a Reader for the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Human Geography Exam. Each June, university professors and high school teachers from around the world gather to evaluate and score the free-response sections of the AP Exams. This year’s assembly was in Cincinnati. Johnson has also served as a Reader in 2010 (Cincinnati), 2009 (Lincoln, Neb.), and 2006 (Clemson, S.C.). Nearly 100,000 students took the exam this year, continuing the AP Human Geography exam's sustained and significant growth in recent years, alongside increasing enrollments in geography courses at universities nationwide.
