Warhawks repeat as NAIA Women’s Tennis National Champions
Sophomore Jade Curtis scored the match-clinching victory with a three-set win at the No. 2 singles position, as the AUM women's tennis team defeated Embry-Riddle, 5-2, to earn the 2012 NAIA Women's Tennis National Tournament Championship, its second consecutive and 12th overall, Saturday at the Mobile Tennis Center. more

Men's tennis team reach the NAIA quarterfinals, fall just short of title
The No. 5 Auburn Montgomery men's tennis team had its season come to an end on Thursday, as it fell to No. 4 Azusa Pacific in the NAIA Men's Tennis Championship Tournament, 5-4, at the Mobile Tennis Center. more

School’s Out for Summer Bash to kick off third annual Summer Concert Series on June 8
After 180 days of homework, exams, projects and presentations, the final bell of the school year will ring on June 8. Bring the kids to celebrate at the School’s Out for Summer Bash, hosted by Auburn Montgomery. Join us from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Quad to enjoy food, games and a repeat performance by the family friendly band D'Zyre. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Montgomery Food Bank. more

Education offering employees, students discounts to enroll children in Summer Enrichment Camp
The School of Education's Department of Early Childhood, Elementary and Reading Education is accepting registrations for its Summer Enrichment Camp in July. The two-week camp will run from July 9 through July 20, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. The discounted cost of the camp for AUM employees and students is $175. For more information, call 244-3399. Learn how to mine census date at workshops on Friday
In collaboration with the Information Services Division of the Alabama Department of Finance, AUM is offering a workshop on campus to cover 2010 census products and how to obtain data online. The workshop will be offered twice and conducted by an official from the U.S. Census Bureau on Friday, May 25. the first session will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and the second session will run from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held in Liberal Arts Tech Wing 310 (the GIS lab). This is a great opportunity to learn how to mine census data using the latest technology. Seats are limited, so register now. Registration and more info

View once-in-a-lifetime 'Transit of Venus' at AUM on June 5
Join Auburn Montgomery, the Auburn Astronomical Society and the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassadors on Tuesday, June 5, to view the 2012 Transit of Venus. This is probably the only chance you'll get to see this phenomena - the next Transit of Venus does not occur until 2117, and that won't be visible from Alabama. Viewing will begin on the 10th floor of Young Tower at 5 p.m. more

Area fourth graders get "the dirt" on clean water
More than 3,000 Montgomery area fourth graders gathered at Auburn Montgomery on May 15 and 16 for the 12th annual Montgomery County Water Festival. Through hands-on activities, such as constructing mini-filtration systems as pictured, they learned how to become wise stewards of our most precious resource – water. Established in 2001, the festival is hosted by AUM’s School of Sciences and Department of Biology, in collaboration with the Montgomery Water Works and Sanitary Sewer Board, Alabama Department of Environmental Management, Alabama Department of Public Health, Alabama Clean Water Partnership, National Resources Conservation Service, and Montgomery Public Schools. The event is offered each spring for free to area public, private and home schools.

Follow AUM students on their adventures in Belize
Fifteen students from Auburn Montgomery recently embarked on a journey to Belize, a three-week study abroad program sponsored by the Office of International Affairs. The program includes students majoring in pre-social work, anthropology and nursing. more

Mobis Alabama conducting interviews on campus this week
Mobis Alabama LLC will be on campus to conduct interviews for available positions on Wednesday, May 23. Interested candidates should submit resumes to the Career Development Center, Taylor Center 154 and 158, by 5 p.m today. Mobis representatives will conduct interviews with job seekers selected from the resumes received through the Career Development Center. Dr. Michael B. Simmons, Associate Professor in History, has been invited to give three lectures on Patristic Theology and History at an ecumenical gathering of seminary students, professors, churches, and the general public from the greater area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 5 at the Ireja Plena Reformed (Presbyterian/Calvinist) Church in Campo Grande, which is a suburb of Rio de Janeiro. The gathering will be hosted by Bishop Jose Moreno of the Ireja Episcopal Anglicana Livre of Brazil, and the President of the American Pontifical Catholic University (Brazil campus); the Rev. Jean Aguiar de Almeida, President of the Centro de Educação Teológica Missionária de Brazil; and the Rev. Moisés Andriolo, Pastor, Ireja Plena, Campo Grande. The three lectures will be given in Spanish and interpreted in Portuguese. They are:
