Tickets still available for School of Education Luau
Tickets are still available for the Lake Martin luau to be hosted at Children’s Harbor on Saturday, May 19, 6-11 p.m., by the AUM School of Education. Tickets are $75 and proceeds benefit future teachers by funding scholarships and special programs for the School of Education.
Activities will include:
- Live music and dancing. Back by popular demand, Birmingham rock band "Total A$$et$" will entertain the crowd with party favorites like "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Brick House." Don’t know how to dance? An instructor will be on hand to teach swing and ballroom dancing moves.
- Casting lessons on Lake Martin, provided by the AUM Anglers.
- Outdoor games like ladder golf and horse shoes.
- Photo opportunities with AUM mascot Curtiss and AU mascot Aubie.
- Island cuisine and tropical concoctions.
- Live and silent auctions.
With a reputation as one of the best teacher prep programs in Alabama, the AUM School of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and all its programs are approved by the Alabama Department of Education. It’s also home to the Alabama Positive Behavior Support Center and the AUM Early Childhood Center.
