Recent AUM graduates get free first-year Wellness Center memberships
The more than 450 AUM graduates who earned their degrees on Saturday have more than the completion of a huge educational milestone to celebrate – they can also cheer their eligibility for a free first-year membership to AUM’s exciting, soon-to-open Wellness Center.
Beginning Aug. 13, all AUM students who graduated from fall semester 2010 to summer semester 2012 will have the opportunity to join the AUM Wellness Center at no cost for a full year. That’s because a portion of the student fees collected during that period were dedicated to helping finance construction of the 73,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center.
Mindful and grateful that student support during the past two years has helped make the Wellness Center a reality, AUM leaders are committed to ensuring that students who helped pay for the facility have the opportunity to use it as designed, even though they are no longer enrolled.
"Thanks to the perseverance of AUM students and their willingness to give a little more even during some difficult economic times, doors to the Wellness Center will open this summer," said Chancellor John Veres. "It’s only right that those who helped make this happen, but graduated prior to its opening, be among the first to enjoy all the center has to offer through free first-year memberships."
For those eligible, the opportunity to take advantage of a free first-year membership will be available through August 2013.
