AUM to celebrate Earth Week beginning April 16
On April 22, people in more than 190 countries around the world will join forces to celebrate Earth Day and increase awareness of and appreciation for our natural environment. With the help of the student-led AUM Green Alliance, the AUM Sustainability Committee and students in the Cornerstone of Communication class, the campus community can join the celebration of our Earth throughout a week full of fun and exciting events.
Auburn Montgomery is committed to becoming a more responsible corporate citizen by integrating sustainability initiatives into all aspects of university operations and reducing their negative impact on the environment. The main objective for Earth Week is to create awareness among the AUM community of the "Go Green" movement and its importance.

Kermit Was Wrong; Being Green Is Easy: "Our funny green friend always told us that being green was hard. And while it may be difficult to have green skin, going green is easier than ever. Many steps that we take to save the environment can also save us time and money. So, what's to lose?" Sam Davidson, president and co-founder of Cool People Care and author of New Day Revolution: How to Save the World in 24 Hours, will be presenting ideas for going green and impacting your community - easily. "It is so hard sometimes to start new, green habits, but it is so important that each of us take the small steps towards making the planet a better place to live." There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation. Refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Chad Underwood at cunderw2@aum.edu or 205-223-3518.
