Vote for your Homecoming royalty this week
AUM’s 2012 homecoming court has been announced. Voting is open today through Thursday in myAUM. The court will ride in the homecoming parade on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The coronation of king, queen, prince and princess will occur on Saturday following the women’s basketball game, which is set to tip off at 2 p.m.

Queen
Jennifer Simpson of Montgomery is a junior majoring in biology/pre-health sciences. Her campaign is sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, of which she has served as historian, vice president and president. She is secretary of the Panhellenic council and has also been involved with the Campus Activities Board and AUMazing Fans.
Demetria Davis of Dothan is a senior majoring in accounting. Her campaign is sponsored by the Omicron Mu chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, of which she serves as vice president. She represents the School of Business as a senator in the Student Government Association, serves as treasurer of Circle K International, and is a member of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and Accounting Club. She has also been inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa leadership society and Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Ashley Ivey of Montgomery is a junior majoring in nursing. She is sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta, of which she serves as social coordinator. She is also vice president of Diamond Girls and a member of the Association of Student Nurses, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and Baptist Campus Ministries.
King
Baron Litaker of Prattville is a junior majoring in organizational leadership. He is sponsored by Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He is a member of ROTC and the National Society of Leadership and Success. He is also active in intramural sports.
Joshua Starr of Montgomery is a junior majoring in criminal justice. He is sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta. He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and ROTC. The Reserve Officers Association recognized him with Outstanding Competence in the Arts and Sciences of National Defense. He has served as youth leader at the Church of the Highlands and Santuck Baptist Church. He also enjoys participating in intramural flag football and volleyball.
Princess
Maranda Jackson of Dothan is a freshman majoring in business administration. She is sponsored by WarHawk Recruiters. She serves as an AUM student recruiter and was recently selected as an orientation leader for 2012-2013. She represents the freshman class as Freshman Senator of the Student Government Association and serves on the Quad Crew for the Campus Activities Board. She is a member of Circle K International and public relations chair of the AUM Green Alliance. When home in Dothan, she volunteers at Covenant Hospice.
Marie Reuter of Wetumpka is a freshman majoring biology. She is sponsored by Lambda Chi Alpha. She is service chair and chaplain of Zeta Tau Alpha and a member of the AUM Green Alliance, Non-Profit Leadership Organization, AUMazing Fans, and the Disney College Program.
Allyson Lee of Montgomery is a sophomore majoring in communication and dramatic arts. She is sponsored by Theatre AUM. She was nominated in 2011 and 2012 for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
Prince
Zachary Higginbotham of Montgomery is a freshman who has not yet declared a major. He is sponsored by SAE. He is on the East Montgomery YMCA swim team
Justin Law of Wetumpka is a sophomore majoring in information systems. He is sponsored by Lambda Chi Alpha. He serves as an AUM Ambassador and orientation leader. He is also a member of Baptist Campus Ministries and serves as youth leader at Christ Community Church.
