Call for Ida Belle Young 'Special Project' proposals
The Ida Belle Young Committee is accepting proposals/ideas for “Special Projects,” projects that will best enhance the academic quality and reputation of AUM, to be supported by the Ida Belle Young endowment.
Submissions may be either full proposals, with details that are several pages in length, or ideas for smaller initiatives summarized in a few paragraphs. Any idea or proposal should address its potential for moving AUM beyond what we are currently doing. Proposals from previous years may be resubmitted.
The committee will be make recommendations to the chancellor regarding such projects. The amount to be allocated this year for special projects will be $100,000. Other funds from the Ida Belle Young endowment will support scholarships, a graduate assistantship, faculty scholarship and the Ida Belle Young professorships.
The committee is hoping to generate a wide range of thoughtful and creative proposals about how to allocate these funds. All proposals and ideas should be submitted electronically to Dr. Michael Burger, dean of the School of Liberal Arts, by March 5, 2012. Type “Ida B. Young Special Project Proposal” in the subject line.
The committee hopes to complete its recommendations to the chancellor by March 19, 2012.
