Phi Alpha Theta continues to 'Deck the Halls with Books on History'

Since 2004, Phi Alpha Theta history honor society has sponsored the holiday project “Deck the Halls with Books on History.” This project has made it possible for the society to purchase more than 1,000 history books for local elementary school libraries. These books are all on the Accelerated Reader list, so children may take tests on these books as part of their required reading programs. The money for this program has come largely from donations and ink cartridge recycling, which the society accepts year-round. Last year, the society was honored with a grant from AUM Outreach, which made it possible for the society to buy books with library binding that will hold up better over time. The society's 2011 book list is below. If you would like to dedicate a book personally, or in memory or honor of someone, send $5 to the Chi Psi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, c/o Dr. Lee A. Farrow, Department of History, and the society will place a special bookplate in the book of your choice.
