AUM soccer teams one step away from conference championships

The AUM's men's and women's soccer teams have both navigated their way through the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament to reach the finals.

Yuki Kariya, Stefan Arnarson and Richonne Clark all scored goals in leading the Senators to a 3-1 win over Shorter College in the semifinals.

AUM moves to 14-3-2 overall. The Senators will face the winner of the Southern Polytech - Lee University match in the final.

On the women's side, Tscahana Wade scored two second half goals to lead the Lady Senators to a 2-0 win over Faulkner University in the semifinals.

Daisy Burnfield picked up six saves in goal for AUM and recorded her second consecutive tournament shutout. It was her seventh shutout of the season.

The Lady Senators are now 14-4-1 overall. They will face the winner of the Lee University - Shorter College match in the tournament championship.

The dates and times of the final matches have not yet been determined.
