AUM People
Chase Burch, former AUM baseball standout, has been named the 2009 Rookie of the Year by the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. Burch is the designated hitter for the Pensacola Pelicans. He was selected by the league's field managers and media after hitting .341 with nine home runs and 65 runs batted in.

Amber Elam, a junior pre-pharmacy major from Valdosta, Ga., was named the SSAC Women’s Offensive Player of the Week. Elam had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over NCAA Div. II member University of Alabama-Huntsville. Her goal came with just under four minutes left in overtime and was the match-winner. Elam presently leads the Lady Senators with eight points on three goals and two assists.

Elam is also the recipient of the season's first Army Athletic Achievement Award.

Kile Kennedy, a sophomore sports management major from Melbourne, Australia, was named the SSAC Men’s Defensive Player of the Week. Kennedy recorded two shutouts for the week, including a double-overtime game against highly-regarded Martin Methodist College. On the season, Kennedy has allowed one goal in 290 minutes of action. He has recorded five saves and a 0.31 goals against average.
