ITS moves to Sophos to secure campus computers

In spring 2009, a decision was made to replace the McAfee Anti-Virus solution on AUM computers with Sophos Anti-Virus Solution.

In the coming months, ITS will remove McAfee from your computer and replacing it with Sophos. In most cases this will be accomplished without a technician visiting your computer.  Your only indication it has been completed will be that the McAfee icon has been replaced by the Sophos icon. The new Sophos icon will be located in the system tray near the date and time.

Sophos will be available to AUM students, faculty and staff free of charge (additional information about this free service will be provided at a later date). For more information or if you have questions about Sophos, contact Bill Broadway at wbroadwa@aum.edu.
