Faculty and staff invited to convocation

Faculty and staff are invited to attend the fall 2009 convocation Friday, Sept. 11, in Taylor Center 221, 222 and 223.

A free breakfast buffet will be provided to employees, and a slide presentation highlighting AUM's new employees will be shown during breakfast.

Everyone will be excused from regular duties for attendance at the convocation. Doors will open at 7 a.m. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. and conclude around 8:45 a.m.

The program will be as follows:

• Welcome by Chancellor John Veres
• Comments from Faculty Council President Donnie Nobles
• Comments from Staff Council President Melinda Kramer
• Remarks by Chancellor John Veres
• Presentation of the Guinevera A. Nance Alumni Professorship by Alumni Association President Harry Abrams
• Outreach Gant Award and presentation of Outreach Excellence Award by Vice Chancellor for Outreach Katherine Jackson
