Auburn Montgomery designates severe weather safe areas
Auburn Montgomery has designated several severe weather safe areas across campus effective immediately.
In the event of tornado warnings or other instances of severe weather, all students, faculty and staff on campus should take cover immediately in the closest safe area:
Administration Building
- Men’s or women’s restroom
- Sponsored Programs interior offices
- Sponsored Programs conference room
Library Tower
Goodwyn Hall
- Basement hallway close to the elevator
- Rooms 109, 110, 111, 112, 114, 115, 116
Liberal Arts/Education
- Reading Center 112
- Early Childhood Center nap room
- 1st floor restrooms
- 1st floor hallway (adjacent to Early Childhood Center)
Moore Hall
- Auditorium 106-107
- 1st floor hallway (adjacent to Medical Technology laboratories and offices)
Clement Hall
- Room 108 classroom
- ITS Office (former TRC employee space)
- Hallway in Phase 2 (adjacent to room 108)
Physical Education Complex
- Training room
- Locker rooms
- Hallway (adjacent to Physical Education offices)
- Hallway (adjacent to Athletic offices)
- Concession stand area
- 1st floor restroom
Taylor Center
- 1st floor hallway (adjacent to Financial Aid)
- Financial Aid office
- Registrar’s office
- Hallway connecting Phases 1 and 2 (close to Housing mailboxes)

Modular Buildings
- Evacuate to the closest safe area
Safe area signage and evacuation maps are being developed and will be placed in the appropriate areas over the next few months. Once these signs have been posted, the university will conduct safety drills.
