Faculty award and grant programs announced by University Outreach
University Outreach is launching two initiatives to recognize and advance outstanding faculty research and other scholarly activity that positively impacts the community.
“One important element of Auburn Montgomery’s mission acknowledges our obligation to extend our expertise and resources to benefit the community,” said Dr. Katherine Jackson, vice chancellor for Outreach. “We hope these initiatives will help the community and further enhance AUM’s educational standing in Montgomery and beyond.”
The 2009 Auburn Montgomery Excellence in Faculty Outreach Award will be presented to one exceptional AUM faculty member in recognition of that individual’s distinguished outreach contributions. A $5,000 honorarium will be presented with the award. Applications will be reviewed by a committee to identify a worthy candidate to receive the inaugural award.
The 2009 Auburn Montgomery Outreach Grant has been established to encourage Auburn Montgomery faculty and staff to develop and implement programs of outreach to persons in the community. Applications will be reviewed by a committee, and one or more awards may be awarded.
The requirements and evaluation criteria for the award and grant were developed by a committee of Auburn Montgomery faculty and Outreach consultants. These committee members or their appointees will be responsible for the review and evaluation of applications.
All applications for the Outreach faculty awards and grants must be submitted by March 31.
