Mission:
The Alabama Crime Prevention Clearinghouse's mission is to deliver crime prevention services & training, which assist law enforcement, state agencies, community groups, schools, and others to remove or reduce the opportunity for crime in their community and the State of Alabama.
Overview:
The Alabama Crime Prevention Clearinghouse, located at Auburn University at Montgomery, is a project funded by the Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs Law Enforcement & Traffic Safety Division and the AUM' Continuing Education Division. This joint community outreach project is sponsored by Continuing Education's, Dr. Alan Hackel, Dean, and the Department of Justice And Public Safety. Linda Wright, who has over 25 years of leadership in the crime prevention field, directs the Clearinghouse. It also has a resource library and program materials. The Clearinghouse coordinates efforts, and partners with state agencies such as, HIDTA, U.S. Attorneys office, the Alabama Law Enforcement Training Committee and others to sponsor statewide crime prevention training. Continuing Education provides matching funds and handles all conference/workshop training coordination.
