The Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball program is one of the richest in the NAIA and the Southern States Athletic Conference.  The program has claimed 10 conference and regional championships in its 29 years of existence.

During that span, the Senators have had 15 players named to the NAIA All-American squads including the NAIA Player of the Year in 1987-88.  The Senators also have placed two players in the National Basketball Association over its span - Orlando Graham and Etdrick Bohannon.

The Senators have done the majority of their work under the leadership of one man, Larry Chapman, who has posted over 500 wins at Auburn University at Montgomery.
